Set out from Horta in the Azores for an unforgettable whale and dolphin watching expedition. Guided by a marine biologist from the University of Lisbon and Azores, you'll explore the rich waters between Faial and Pico, home to over 25 species of cetaceans.
Before boarding, you'll receive a detailed briefing about the local marine biodiversity and the fascinating cetacean species you may encounter. The tour is conducted in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, with French available on request, ensuring a personalized and informative experience.
Your adventure takes place aboard a comfortable semi-rigid RIB boat, accommodating up to 16 guests per trip. Morning and afternoon departures are available, each lasting around three hours, giving you ample time to spot resident sperm whales, playful dolphins, and migrating blue or fin whales, depending on the season.
Aboard the boat, you'll be provided with waterproof clothing and safety insurance for peace of mind. The presence of a marine researcher ensures you receive up-to-date information and insights into the lives of these incredible animals as you observe them in their natural habitat.
Tours are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled or refunded if conditions are unfavorable. Due to the nature of the boat, this activity is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with severe back problems.
