Best of São Miguel Island

Welcome to São Miguel! Upon landing at the airport, you'll be greeted by our representative who will escort you to your hotel in Ponta Delgada. Once settled, we recommend exploring the city center, starting from Praça Gonçalo Velho Cabral, a magnificent square with its own statue. Behind it, you'll find the noble monument of Portas da Cidade, marking the beginning of Ponta Delgada as the main city of São Miguel. Wander through the narrow streets, explore local shops, and enjoy a cup of coffee or a local beer at Portas do Mar, a platform above the sea. Overnight in Ponta Delgada (or similar).

After an early breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full-day 4x4 tour of São Miguel Island. The adventure begins with a visit to the stunning Sete Cidades Lakes, followed by a dip in the warm waters of Ponta da Ferraria. Enjoy a delicious Azorean lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the mesmerizing Fogo Lake. The day ends with a relaxing dip in the warm iron-rich waterfall of Caldeira Velha. Return to Ponta Delgada by late afternoon for an overnight stay (or similar).

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a full-day adventure to the eastern part of the island. The day begins with a circular bike tour around Furnas Village, known for its healing and boiling waters. After lunch in Furnas (included), visit the beautiful Terra Nostra Park, one of the most beautiful botanical gardens of the 18th century. Enjoy a relaxing thermal bath in the outdoor pool before returning to Ponta Delgada for an overnight stay (or similar).

After a light breakfast at the hotel, you'll receive a car for a self-guided tour of the island's south coast. Drive through São Rique and Livramento, stopping at Lagoa's natural swimming pools and Água de Pau for a taste of the island's best fish. The highlight of the day is a whale and dolphin watching tour in Vila Franca do Campo. After the tour, enjoy the famous Queijadas da Vila and visit the beautiful chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz. Return to Ponta Delgada for an overnight stay (or similar).

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a self-guided tour of the island's northern and eastern side. Visit the famous pineapple plantations in Fajã de Baixo, explore the historical center of Ribeira Grande, and visit the Gorreana Tea Factory. Enjoy the breathtaking view from Pico do Ferro View Point and explore the lake of Furnas. Visit the geysers in Furnas and end the day with a delicious dinner at Tony's Restaurant. Return to Ponta Delgada for an overnight stay (or similar).

Enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel before driving to the airport. Please return the car two hours before your flight departure. We hope this journey has created memories that will last a lifetime.
