Alentejo Vineyards Cycling

Welcome to Portugal! We'll start our journey from Lisbon and head towards the ancient town of Estremoz. Here, you'll be treated like royalty as you spend the night in a castle that has been converted into a hotel. From your accommodation, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Estremoz and the expansive Alentejo plain.

After a hearty breakfast, we'll cycle through quaint villages and historical landscapes towards Vila Viçosa, Portugal's marble capital. Here, you can explore the Ducal Palace, a magnificent structure built on the remnants of Roman and Moorish buildings. Spend the rest of the day wandering through the charming streets near the town center.

Get ready for a beautiful day of cycling towards Spain, through landscapes adorned with cork trees, olive groves, and flocks of sheep. Along the way, you'll admire the stunning Guadiana River that separates Portugal from Spain and visit Juromenha, a picturesque village with views of Spain. After a day of uphill cycling, you'll return to Vila Viçosa and reward your efforts with a scrumptious meal.

Today, we'll leave Vila Viçosa and cycle through a serene cork forest. Upon arrival at Redondo, you'll be amazed by the impressive collection of tiles and ceramics at the hotel-museum, a former convent that has hosted kings since the 1500s. To cap off the day, you'll learn about Portuguese wine at the Wine Museum in the town center.

Prepare for a day of cycling through golden hills and green landscapes, past cork trees, pristine vineyards, and abandoned castles. After days of traversing through history and heritage, we'll finally arrive at the most beautiful historical city in the country. Here, you'll have the chance to gather all your experiences into one and continue exploring.

After a leisurely breakfast, we'll explore the surroundings of the historical city before heading to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 2000 years of history. En route, we'll stop at Arraiolos, famous for its colorful, hand-stitched woolen tapestries. This will be our last day of cycling, and we'll celebrate with some Portuguese wine right at its birthplace.
