Today’s hike leads you deeper into the Karst region, traversing the renowned Strada Napoleonica, a high-altitude path offering sweeping views of Trieste and the Gulf. Pause in Opicina to admire its iconic obelisk before continuing to Basovizza, where you will spend the night in a cozy accommodation (or similar). Breakfast and dinner are provided.

Venture from Basovizza toward the Slovenian border, crossing the lush Rosandra Valley Nature Reserve. Enjoy the tranquility of the Friendship Trail and visit the unique Premuda Hut, Italy’s lowest mountain hut. At the end of your hike, a public bus (included) brings you to the vibrant city of Trieste, where you will stay overnight in a centrally located hotel (or similar). Begin the day with a scenic ferry ride from Trieste to the picturesque town of Muggia. Your hike then takes you inland, crossing into Slovenia, where you are greeted by stunning views of the Muggia Valley and the distant Julian Alps. Descend gently along the Slovenian Alpine Trail, passing through forests and vineyards, before arriving in the charming, car-free old town of Koper. Accommodation is arranged in Koper (or similar).
