A Grand Tour of Puglia's Wonders

Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival in Bari/Barletta, check into the Hotel Excelsior (or similar) from 4:00 pm. Before dinner, meet your guide for a welcome cocktail and an introduction to your upcoming adventure. Enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for a comfortable night's stay.

After breakfast, we'll journey to the coastal town of Trani to explore the stunning Cathedral on the sea. Our journey continues to the pilgrimage site of San Giovanni Rotondo, passing by Europe's largest salt marshes, home to a colony of pink flamingos. After lunch, we'll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Monte Sant’Angelo, exploring the Sanctuary and the Grotto of St. Michael the Archangel. We'll end the day with a check-in at the Hotel Vittoria (or similar) in the Gargano area, followed by a delightful dinner.

Start your day with breakfast before setting out for Vieste, the most famous tourist town in the Gargano region. After a guided tour of its charming historic center, enjoy some leisure time and lunch. In the afternoon, we'll journey back to the hotel, passing through the lush Umbra forest, the heart of the Gargano National Park. The day concludes with a delightful dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, we'll journey to Barletta, where we'll explore the old town, including the Norman Castle, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore, and the renowned Colossus of Barletta. After a visit to an authentic oil mill for a tasting of the renowned Altamura bread, we'll continue to Bari to explore the historical center and the Basilica of St. Nicholas. The day concludes with a transfer to the Hotel Lo Smeraldo (or similar) in the scenic Itria Valley, where a delightful dinner awaits.

After breakfast, we'll journey to the fascinating Grotte di Castellana caves, followed by a visit to Alberobello, the 'capital of the Trulli.' After lunch, we'll explore Ostuni, known as the 'white city' due to its distinctive whitewashed buildings. The day concludes with a return to the Hotel Lo Smeraldo (or similar) in the Itria Valley for a delightful dinner.

After breakfast, we'll journey to Lecce, known as the 'Florence of the South,' where we'll explore the historic center. After an oil tasting and lunch, we'll depart for Otranto, the 'Gate of the East,' where we'll discover the Romanesque Cathedral and the captivating chapel of the tomb of the Holy Martyrs. The day concludes with a return to the Hotel Lo Smeraldo (or similar) in the Itria Valley for a delightful dinner.

After breakfast, we'll explore the historic center of Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its 'Sassi' neighborhoods. After lunch, we'll journey back to Bari or its surroundings, where we'll check into the Hotel Excelsior (or similar) in the Bari/Barletta area. The day concludes with a delightful dinner.

After a final breakfast at the hotel, it's time to check out and say 'Arrivederci!' to Italy. Consider the optional private transfer to the airport or train station for your convenience.
