Private eight days tour of Romania starting from Budapest to Bucharest

Your journey begins in Budapest, where our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 10 AM. From there, you'll embark on a 4-hour road trip to the charming city of Oradea. After a leisurely lunch, you'll check into a centrally located hotel (or similar) before setting out to explore the city's architectural treasures, including the Black Eagle Palace, the Moon Church, and the Oradea Fortress. As the day winds down, enjoy a relaxing stroll through the city center and its public gardens.

After a hearty breakfast, you'll set off for the vibrant city of Cluj-Napoca. Along the way, you'll stop at the Turda Salt Mine, a marvel of nature transformed into an underground theme park. After a fun-filled morning, you'll head to the traditional village of Rimetea for a taste of local cuisine. Once in Cluj-Napoca, you'll embark on a city tour that includes visits to the Saint Michael’s Church, the Banffy Palace, and the Opera House.

Day three takes you to Gherla, a city known for its unique baroque architecture, and Bistrița, a town founded by Saxon colonists. After a city tour and a taste of the region's famous pies, you'll journey through the Carpathian Mountains, home to Europe's largest population of wolves and brown bears. You'll stop at Pasul Tihuța to admire the stunning mountain views before continuing to the historic region of Bukovina. Here, you'll visit the Voroneț Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its distinctive blue frescoes.

On day four, you'll visit the Sucevița Monastery, another of Bukovina's painted monasteries, before heading to the region of Neamț. Here, you'll stop at the Nicolae Popa Museum, a private collection of traditional Romanian clothing and objects. After a day of cultural immersion, you'll check into your hotel (or similar) in the city of Piatra Neamț.

Day five takes you through the Carpathian Mountains and the breathtaking Bicaz Gorges on your way to Sighișoara, a city known for its well-preserved medieval architecture. Here, you'll visit the Clock Tower and the Hill Church, both part of the city's UNESCO-listed fortress. After a day of exploration, you'll spend the night in Sighișoara, where street performers keep the medieval spirit of the city alive.

On day six, you'll travel to Viscri, one of Romania's last traditionally authentic villages. After a leisurely carriage ride, you'll head to Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle. From there, you'll continue to Brașov, where you'll visit the Black Church and take a walking tour of the Old Town. If time permits, you'll also attend an organ recital at the Black Church.

On your last day in Transylvania, you'll visit Sinaia to tour the stunning Peleș Castle, the summer residence of the Romanian royal family. From there, you'll head to Bucharest, Romania's vibrant capital. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll tour the impressive Palace of the Parliament before taking a walking tour of the Old Town, known for its lively nightlife.

On your final day, you have the option to book a day trip around Bucharest or to Bulgaria. Alternatively, you can choose to relax in Bucharest before your airport transfer, which will be arranged according to your flight schedule.
