Begin your journey in the bustling French market town of St Jean Pied de Port, nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Embark on a challenging but rewarding walk up the Pyrenees, taking the traditional Napoleon Route. Enjoy the stunning views as you ascend from 200m above sea level to just above 1,400m. Descend steeply into Roncesvalles, a traditional starting point for Spanish pilgrims. The total distance covered is approximately 25km.

Start your day with a visit to the Chapel of St James in Roncesvalles before setting off on a 24.8km journey to the village of Larrasoaña. Traverse two mountain passes, Alto de Mezquiriz and Alto de Erro, before descending to the village of Zubiri. From there, it's a short 4km walk to Larrasoaña. The journey will take approximately 6 hours.

Embark on a 19.1km journey from Zubiri to Pamplona, a city rich in cultural attractions and exquisite food. Start your day by crossing the Rabies Bridge and finish by crossing the La Magdalena Bridge. Enjoy a shorter route with gentle hills, allowing you to save energy and explore Pamplona. Don't miss the Good Friday Parade, the historical cathedral, and the local tapas and wine.

Leave Pamplona and embark on a 25.5km journey to Puente La Reina. The route is a mixture of countryside and busy roads, offering one of the best views of Pamplona. Visit the 12th Century Church of San Miguel and climb up the Alto del Perdon. The day ends in Puente La Reina, a town known for its beautiful medieval bridge.

Embark on a 25.1km journey from Puente La Reina to Estella. The route is relatively easy, with gentle ups and downs, and takes you through a land of vineyards. At the end of the day, reward yourself with a dip in a saltwater spring that has healing properties. Estella is a beautiful place with markets and a river running through the village.

Set off on a 30.2km journey from Estella to Torres Del Rio. Pass through vineyards and farmland, stopping at the village of Azqueta and Villamayor de Monjardin. End your day in Torres Del Rio, a small town known for its Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a 12th-century architectural jewel.

Leave Torres Del Rio and head towards the hermitage of the Virgen del Poyo. Continue along the road and take a path towards Bargota. After one kilometre, reach Viana, the last village on the Pilgrim’s Way in Navarre. The day ends in Logroño, a city known for its rich history and culture. This is your first rest and relaxation day.

Enjoy a day of rest in Logroño. Explore the city's points of interest, including the Sta. Mª de La Redonda Procathedral, Santa María de Palacio Church, Puente de Piedra bridge, La Rioja Museum, Santiago el Real Church, Church of San Bartolomé, Los Peregrinos Fountain, and Paseo del Espolón. Take this opportunity to relax and rejuvenate before continuing your journey.

Leave Logroño and head towards Najera, a journey of approximately 30.1km. Pass through the natural environment surrounding the La Granjera dam and enjoy the magnificent views that the San Antón peak offers. The journey will take approximately 7 hours.

Set off on a 21.8km journey from Najera to Santo Domingo, one of the most important towns in the Jacobean tradition. The route passes through vineyards and large fields of cereal, offering a serene and peaceful walk. The journey will take approximately 5 hours.

Leave Santo Domingo and head towards Belorado, a journey of approximately 23.5km. Pass over the Rio Oja via the Puente del Santo bridge and pass the 16th century Iglesia de San Juan Bautista and Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Calle. The journey will take approximately 5 hours.

Embark on a 24.5km journey from Belorado to Burgos, a city known as the Gothic capital of Spain. The route takes you through the city of Belorado and its old town centre, ending in the beautiful city of Burgos, the birthplace of 'El Cid'. Burgos is your second rest and relaxation day.

Leave Burgos and head towards Hontanas, a journey of approximately 27.2km. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. The Spanish call this section the 'leg breaker' not due to the surface, but due to the length. The journey will take approximately 6 hours.

Set off on a 32.1km journey from Hontanas to Boadilla del Camino. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. Pass through the ruins of the hospital of San Antón, founded in the 12th century. The journey will take approximately 7 hours.

Embark on a 29.8km journey from Boadilla del Camino to Carrion de los Condes. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. The journey will take approximately 7 hours.

Set off on a 26.9km journey from Carrion de los Condes to Terradillos de Templarios. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. The journey will take approximately 6 hours.

Embark on a 27km journey from Terradillos de Templarios to Puente Villarente. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. Puente Villarente is most notable for its medieval bridge of 17 arches. The journey will take approximately 6 hours.

Set off on a 23.5km journey from Puente Villarente to Mansilla de las Mulas. The route is fairly easy and there are no long steep ascents or descents. Mansilla de las Mulas is a small, but a pretty little town with its main strip being on a road that arcs its way down and around an incline. The journey will take approximately 5 hours.

Pass through the famous Cruz de Fierro or Cruz de Hierro, which indicates the 1,500m elevation at this point of the Camino, the highest on the Spanish side of the French Way. The journey will take approximately 6.5 hours.
