Arriving in Lukomir, Bosnia’s highest and most isolated village, you’ll discover ancient stećci tombstones and experience a unique blend of tradition and modernity. After a nourishing breakfast in Lukomir, your journey continues along a shepherd’s path that descends into the heart of the Rakitnica Gorge. The trail meanders through wild landscapes, leading you to a suspension bridge that spans the rushing river below—a thrilling crossing that marks the start of a steep ascent. As you climb out of the gorge, the expansive meadows and the imposing Visocica mountain range come into view, providing a dramatic backdrop for your trek. The day concludes in the peaceful village of Bobovica, where you’ll unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner and comfortable accommodation (or similar), reflecting on the day’s achievements.

The final day of your multi-day adventure begins with a challenging ascent from Bobovica, traversing lush meadows and dense beech forests. After about forty-five minutes, you’ll reach the natural amphitheater beneath the Vito summit, where the mountain’s grandeur unfolds before you. The climb to the top of Vito rewards you with a sweeping 360-degree panorama, perfect for a summit picnic. The descent follows the ridge to Drstva summit, then drops through serene forests, gradually leading you to the welcoming village of Tusila. After a well-deserved lunch at a local hut (or similar), a comfortable transfer returns you to Sarajevo, where your unforgettable journey through Bosnia’s wild highlands concludes.
