Hike the Tiroler Adlerweg individually (6 Days)

Arrive individually in the charming town of St. Johann in Tirol, where your adventure through the Tyrolean Alps begins. Settle into your accommodation at Alpenhotel Kaiserfels (or similar) and unwind as you soak in the fresh mountain air. Enjoy a delicious dinner, allowing the anticipation of the week’s alpine explorations to build as you relax in this picturesque setting.

Begin your first full day with a transfer to Rummlerhof, where you embark on the initial stage of the Tiroler Adlerweg. Traverse enchanting forest trails leading to the mesmerizing Schleier Waterfall, then continue past the mysterious Diebsöfen and vibrant alpine meadows. Pause at the welcoming Obere Regalm and Gaudeamushütte mountain huts before descending to the scenic Wochenbrunner Alm. Return comfortably by hiking bus to St. Johann in Tirol, where you can reflect on your day’s discoveries over a hearty dinner at Alpenhotel Kaiserfels (or similar).

Travel by public transport to the tranquil Hintersteiner See, the gateway to today’s alpine adventure. Hike through shady woods to the inviting Kaindlhütte, where panoramic vistas of the Wilder Kaiser await. Continue over the Brentenjoch, accompanied by breathtaking mountain scenery, and reach Jahnhügel, where a cable car whisks you down to Kufstein. From there, board a train to Jenbach and settle into Jenbacher Hof (or similar) for a restful evening.

After breakfast, board a bus to Maurach am Achensee, where the Rofanbahn cable car lifts you to a spectacular mountain station. Set out along panoramic trails to the summit of Rofanspitze, rewarded with sweeping views of the Karwendel, the Inntal valley, and the shimmering Achensee below. Descend by cable car and enjoy a nostalgic journey on the historic Achenseebahn back to Jenbach. Later, travel by train to Innsbruck, the captivating Tyrolean capital, and relax at Hotel Sailer (or similar).

This morning, travel by bus to Tulfes and ascend via the Glungezerbahn cable car to the start of your hike. Traverse the renowned Swiss Stone Pine Trail, meandering through one of Europe’s largest stone pine forests, with aromatic scents and stunning views of the Nordkette range and Inntal valley. Conclude the hike at the Patscherkofel cable car, descending gently back to Innsbruck. From there, a scenic train ride brings you to St. Anton am Arlberg, where you’ll stay at Hotel Alte Post (or similar).

On your final day, ascend with the Galzigbahn cable car to the mountain station and embark on a memorable hike across the Arlberg region. Traverse gentle alpine meadows and panoramic trails, savoring the awe-inspiring views of the surrounding peaks. Descend via winding paths to the quaint village of Stuben, where you can pause for refreshments. A public bus returns you to St. Anton am Arlberg, where your exhilarating journey along the Adlerweg concludes, with the option to extend your stay for further exploration.
