Albanian Escape

Welcome to Albania! Upon your arrival at Mother Teresa Airport, you'll be greeted by our local guide. Depending on your arrival time, we may embark on a brief tour of Tirana, the vibrant capital city, before checking into your hotel for the night.

Today, we'll journey north to Shkodra, a city of historical significance. Our first stop will be the ancient Rozafa Castle, where you'll marvel at the cyclopean walls and explore the archaeological treasures within. Next, we'll visit the Venice Art Mask Factory, a family-run enterprise where traditional Venetian masks are handcrafted. From there, we'll continue to the idyllic village of Theth, where you'll spend the night.

Wake up to the stunning beauty of Theth, surrounded by towering mountains. Today, we'll explore the village, starting with a visit to the local church. Then, we'll hike to the breathtaking Grunas Waterfall, where you can dip your hands in the icy water. We'll also visit the historic Lock-In Tower, which has a fascinating story to tell. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure before we return to our accommodation in Theth.

After breakfast, we'll visit the mesmerizing Thethi Blue Eye, a natural well known for its stunning blue and emerald hues. After a short hike, we'll transfer to Durres, a city rich in history. Here, we'll explore the Roman Amphitheatre and the Venetian Tower. As the day winds down, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Adriatic Sea, taking in the breathtaking sunset.

Today, we'll travel to the UNESCO-protected town of Berat. We'll explore the historic Berat Castle, visit the Onufri Museum located within, and descend to the lower part of town to cross the 18th-century Gorica Bridge. You'll have the opportunity to stroll through the narrow cobbled streets, chat with locals, and even sample local wines and raki at a winery. We'll return to Durres for the night.

Today, we'll journey to Rodon Cape, the largest cape in Albania. After a scenic hike, we'll explore the historic Rodoni Castle and St. Antony Church. You'll also have time to explore the area's untouched nature, sunbathe on the sandy beaches, or explore the remnants of the communist era. We'll then travel to Tirana for the night.

We'll spend the day exploring Tirana, starting with a visit to the National History Museum, Ethem Bey Mosque, and the Clock Tower. We'll then continue to BunkArt1, a former cold war bunker turned museum that offers a glimpse into Albania's communist past. In the evening, you can choose to enjoy a traditional dinner with a folk show or dine at Dajti Mountain, offering stunning views of the city.

On our final day, we'll travel to the medieval town of Kruja, known for its connection to the national hero Skanderbeg. We'll visit the castle and the Ethnographic Museum to learn more about the area's history and traditions. After some free time in the traditional bazaar, we'll transfer you to the airport for your journey home. Safe travels!
